In this role, you will support the detection, investigation, and mitigation of financial crime risks, with a strong emphasis on fraud-related activity. You will play a key part in ensuring XMoney remains compliant with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and related regulations while protecting the company and its customers from fraud and illicit activity.

This is not a remote or hybrid position. This role is based on-site at either our Palo Alto headquarters or New York City office.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Monitor, investigate, and escalate potential fraud, money laundering, and suspicious activity alerts using transaction monitoring systems and case management tools.

  • Stay current on emerging fraud typologies, AML regulations, and industry best practices; contribute to policy and procedure updates.
  • Support internal and external audits, regulatory exams, and independent reviews of the BSA/AML program.
  • Provide guidance and training to front-line staff on fraud and AML red flags as needed.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of 2 years of direct experience in fraud investigation, fraud operations, or fraud risk management within the financial services or fintech sector.
  • Working knowledge of BSA/AML regulations, OFAC sanctions, and related compliance frameworks.
  • Experience using transaction monitoring systems, case management platforms, and fraud detection tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and identify patterns of suspicious or fraudulent activity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft clear investigative narratives and regulatory filings.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience in a fintech, payments, or digital banking environment.
  • CAMS, CFE, or other relevant compliance/fraud certifications.
  • Familiarity with SAR filing processes and FinCEN requirements.
  • Experience collaborating across Fraud, Compliance, and Risk functions.
  • Knowledge of emerging fraud trends (e.g., account takeover, synthetic identity, payment fraud, mule activity)
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

$100,000 - $135,000 USD

Base salary is just one part of our total rewards package at xAI, which also includes equity, comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage, access to a 401(k) retirement plan, short & long-term disability insurance, life insurance, and various other discounts and perks.
