Job description

Overview

Briceno Contractor Inc. is seeking a motivated Construction Estimator to join our growing team. We specialize in commercial rough carpentry, wood framing, metal framing, drywall, and related scopes throughout Maryland, Pennsylvania, and surrounding areas. Experience with commercial, multifamily, and mixed-use construction is preferred.

The Construction Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, reviewing project plans and specifications, coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers, and supporting successful project execution from preconstruction through award. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of commercial and multifamily construction projects in a fast-paced and growing environment.

Duties

  • Review construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents
  • Prepare detailed estimates for rough carpentry, metal framing, and drywall scopes
  • Perform quantity takeoffs using Bluebeam, Excel, and estimating software
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing
  • Prepare proposals, scope reviews, and bid clarifications
  • Coordinate with project managers, vendors, and clients throughout the estimating process
  • Analyze project costs and identify potential budget risks or scope gaps
  • Assist with change orders, contract review, and project cost tracking
  • Maintain organized records of bids, estimates, and project documentation

Qualifications

  • Experience estimating commercial construction projects
  • Knowledge of rough carpentry, wood framing, metal framing, drywall, and related construction methods
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, and construction estimating software
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
