Job Description:

The Payroll Analyst, under the guidance of the Payroll Director, is responsible for the administration of the day-to-day payroll operations and accuracy of the payroll system that delivers payroll on a bi-weekly basis. The Payroll Analyst will act as backup for members of the payroll team, and be a resource to employees and perform related duties as required.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

  • Processes bi-weekly payroll.
  • Understand the Dayforce payroll system as a Processor
  • Provide support for ongoing payroll operational activities
  • Provide payroll process expertise as a project team member on departmental and cross-functional initiatives
  • Solve a variety of complex problems, conduct research, gather and compile information for reports and analyze results
  • Regularly review current processes and procedures and make recommendations for improvements to SOP or systems to enhance performance and create efficiencies.
  • Participate in developing and testing new and/or existing payroll processes and procedures when system and business requirements change
  • Participate in various payroll audits as required by internal and external audit teams
  • Research compliance issues, IRS laws and states laws, to provide recommendations for improved compliance on internal payroll and payroll tax processes
  • Participate in payroll projects and opportunities as assigned
  • Work closely with the Payroll Team to provide excellent customer service and be back up for payroll processing as needed
  • Assist in resolving payroll related tax issues with Dayforce and the taxing agencies
  • Assist with Tax Registrations.
  • Performs other related duties or projects as assigned by the Payroll Director.

Job Specifications:

  • Experience with high volume, multi-state payroll environment
  • Experience in coordinating long-term and short-term planning in a fast-changing environment
  • Ability to work with all levels of management and deal effectively with team members
  • Have superior organization skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with vendors, management, and team members
  • Proficient in Word and Excel
  • Ability to lead and coach others

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 5-7 years of full cycle payroll processing experience
  • Deep knowledge with Payroll Tax, Withholdings, Filings, and Correspondence across multiple States
  • CPP/FPC Preferred
  • Experience with Dayforce Payroll and Workday a plus

Supervisory/Responsibility:

  • This position does not supervise team members

Work Environment:

This is an office position that has the potential to work from home one day a week.

Position Type:

This is a regular, full-time position with the understanding that a regular workweek may require extended days and hours as needed to meet business needs.

Travel:

Occasional domestic travel may be required for this position.
