Position Overview

The George Fox Health Center is seeking a compassionate and skilled occupational therapist to join our dedicated healthcare team in Newport, Oregon. Work Environment

This role will take place onsite at our state-of-the-art rehabilitation facility, designed to foster an effective healing environment. You will work in a dynamic setting where teamwork is paramount, interacting regularly with physical therapists, speech therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, all striving to improve patient health outcomes. Your work schedule will be Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing you to establish a consistent routine with your patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ physical, cognitive, and emotional needs using evidence-based evaluation tools.
• Design and implement personalized treatment plans that reflect patient goals, preferences, and necessary interventions, incorporating input from physicians and family members.
• Deliver a broad range of specialized therapeutic interventions such as adaptive daily living training, cognitive rehabilitation, and therapeutic exercises tailored to each patient’s unique situation.
• Monitor and document patient progress meticulously, making data-driven adjustments to the treatment plans to ensure optimal results.
• Stay abreast of the latest developments in occupational therapy practices and maintain compliance with occupational therapy regulations and standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The occupational therapist will work closely with patients across various age groups who are facing physical or cognitive challenges due to injury, illness, or disability. Whether it's assisting elderly patients in regaining their independence after a stroke or helping younger individuals adapt to life changes following an accident, your role will be critical in facilitating personal development and improved functionality.

Qualifications

• Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Active Occupational Therapist license in the state of Oregon.
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a healthcare setting, with a preference for experience in a skilled nursing or rehabilitation facility.
• Demonstrated knowledge of current occupational therapy techniques, methodologies, and regulatory standards.
• Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) and other healthcare software systems to manage patient data efficiently.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in rehabilitation settings, particularly with geriatric patients.
• Knowledge of community resources and support services available to patients and their families.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary range of USD 80,000 – 90,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
