About the job: 

You will support a senior recovering from a stroke. Needs include assistance with personal care, mobility, transfers, bathing, toileting, positioning, and fall prevention. The ideal caregiver knows when to assist, when to encourage, and when to step back so the client can safely do as much as possible.
Experience with stroke recovery, gait belts, transfers, or mechanical lifts is strongly preferred. Reliability, excellent attendance, patience, and professionalism are especially important.

What You'll Do

·       Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and personal care.
·       Support safe transfers using a gait belt. 
·       Assist with mobility, wheelchair positioning, and fall prevention.
·       Prepare and serve simple meals as needed.
·       Provide medication reminders.
·       Perform light housekeeping, laundry, and linen changes related to the client’s care.
·       Support the client’s evening routine and safe transition to bed.
·       Communicate professionally with the family and FirstLight office team.
·       Help the client remain safe, comfortable, and independent at home.

Qualifications

·       Previous caregiving, home care, CNA, PCA, HHA or LPN experience preferred.
·       Comfortable assisting with transfers, gait belts, mobility, and personal care.
·       Comfortable providing one-on-one care in a private home.
·       Available for morning shifts, evening shifts, weekends, or a combination of shifts.
