Professionals in Foundry Sourcing often face challenges such as fluctuating raw material prices, supplier reliability, and maintaining consistent quality standards. Building strong relationships with multiple suppliers and conducting regular audits can help mitigate supply chain risks. Additionally, staying updated on market trends and negotiating long-term contracts can provide greater price stability. Collaboration with engineering and quality assurance teams ensures that sourced components meet technical requirements, which is critical for operational success.

What is foundry sourcing?

Foundry sourcing is the process of identifying, evaluating, and selecting third-party semiconductor manufacturing facilities, known as foundries, to produce integrated circuits and chips designed by another company. This role involves negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, ensuring quality standards, and optimizing costs and production schedules. Foundry sourcing professionals play a crucial part in the semiconductor supply chain, helping companies meet their technical requirements and market demands efficiently.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in Foundry Sourcing, and why are they important?

To thrive in Foundry Sourcing, you need expertise in procurement, supply chain management, and a solid understanding of metallurgical processes, typically supported by a degree in engineering or business. Familiarity with sourcing platforms, ERP systems like SAP, and supplier relationship management tools is essential. Strong negotiation, analytical thinking, and cross-cultural communication skills help professionals excel in building supplier partnerships and optimizing costs. These competencies are crucial for ensuring a reliable, cost-effective supply of quality foundry materials in a competitive manufacturing environment.

Job description

Diamond Foundry Inc. is solving the thermal limitation at the foundation of today's most exciting tech industries -- AI & cloud compute, electric-car power electronics, and 5G/6G wireless. We have managed to produce the world's first single-crystal diamond wafers and are now on a mission to put a diamond behind every chip. We are the rare unicorn that has grown fast and profitably. We received $515m in funding and are executing a multi-$B expansion plan for one of the greenest forms of tech manufacturing: converting greenhouse gas into diamond wafers using zero-emission energy.

We are seeking a driven and experienced Senior Engineering Recruiter to join our team and help us attract and hire top-tier technical talent. As an Engineering Recruiter, you will be responsible for managing the full recruitment life cycle, from job posting to sourcing and screening candidates, and offers negotiation. You will work closely with hiring managers to understand their specific technical needs and develop tailored recruitment strategies to find the best fit for the team. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a proactive approach to sourcing and recruitment, and a deep understanding of engineering and specialized roles in the manufacturing or semiconductor industry.
Responsabilities
  • Source, screen, and recruit top talent across various semiconductor and technical engineering disciplines.
  • Utilize advanced sourcing techniques, including Boolean searches, LinkedIn Recruiter, and job board platforms, to identify and engage qualified candidates.

  • Propose and actively participate in initiatives, projects, and proposals to enhance the quality of our recruiting process.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Recruiter within the manufacturing/semiconductor industry hiring roles such as mechanical, electrical, metrology, laser, process, and R&D engineers or similar.

  • Proficiency in utilizing recruitment tools and platforms like LinkedIn Recruiter, ATS systems such as Lever, and other sourcing tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with candidates and hiring managers.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
The position is eligible for company shares. Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s job duties, experience, and expertise. We will also consider higher level candidates and salary will be adjusted accordingly.
