Locums - Fort Smith, Arkansas | Non-Invasive Cardiology Opportunity

Clinical Role

Join an established hospital-based cardiology program in Fort Smith, Arkansas, providing inpatient non-invasive cardiology services. This long-term locums opportunity seeks two general cardiologists to share a 7-on/7-off schedule while managing inpatient consultations, hospital admissions, and call coverage within a collaborative cardiovascular team.

Assignment Details

Start Date:

As soon as credentialed

Contract Length:

ASAP through December 31, 2027

Coverage Requirements:

Two locum providers

7 days on / 7 days off rotation

Day shifts only

Schedule:

Seven consecutive daytime shifts

Alternating weekly coverage

Call Schedule:

  • In-house call
  • Approximately 20+ calls while on call
  • Approximately 10 phone consults
  • Call response time: within 15 minutes

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Provide inpatient non-invasive cardiology services
  • Perform hospital rounds
  • Complete inpatient cardiology consultations
  • Manage assigned and unassigned patients
  • Evaluate and admit cardiology patients as needed
  • Respond to inpatient cardiology call
  • Complete phone consultations
  • Collaborate with hospitalists and specialty teams
  • Document patient care using Epic EMR
