SERVICE PHILOSOPHY

POSITION SUMMARY

The Fort Carson Floor Technician performs specialized floor care and custodial services in support of Pueblo 

Diversified Industries' custodial contract at Fort Carson. This position is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, 

and professional facilities through proper floor maintenance, custodial practices, equipment operation, and 

adherence to safety standards. The Floor Technician may also serve as a team lead or designated driver and is 

expected to promote quality workmanship, teamwork, and exceptional customer service.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Floor Care Operations

Perform routine and restorative floor maintenance on a variety of flooring surfaces. 

Operate commercial floor care equipment including scrubbers, buffers, burnishers, extractors, and 

vacuums. 

Sweep, mop, scrub, strip, wax, burnish, spray buff, and recoat hard surface floors. 

Shampoo and extract carpeted areas using approved equipment and cleaning methods. 

Move and replace furniture as necessary to complete assigned work. 

Custodial Services

Clean offices, restrooms, common areas, and other assigned facilities. 

Dust furniture, equipment, fixtures, and surfaces. 

Clean windows, doors, walls, ceilings, woodwork, and metal fixtures. 

Empty trash and recycling containers and transport waste to designated disposal areas. 

Restock restroom and custodial supplies. 

Transport cleaning equipment and supplies between work locations.

Safety & Compliance

Prepare and mix cleaning solutions according to manufacturer specifications and safety requirements. 

Follow all OSHA, SDS, PDI, customer, and Fort Carson safety policies and procedures. 

Inspect equipment before using and report damaged or unsafe equipment promptly. 

Operate power equipment safely and responsibly. 

Maintain a safe and organized work environment. 

Demonstrate proper cleaning and floor care techniques. 

Reinforce safe work practices and ensure compliance with established procedures. 

Communicate operational concerns, hazards, and performance issues to the Project Manager. 

Transportation Duties (As Assigned)

Operate company vehicles to transport employees, equipment, materials, and supplies between work locations. 

Maintain a valid driver's license and comply with all company, customer, and state driving requirements. 

Conduct vehicle inspections and report maintenance concerns.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. 

Previous custodial or commercial floor care experience preferred. 

Ability to safely operate commercial floor care equipment. 

Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions. 

Valid driver's license required if assigned driving responsibilities. 

Ability to obtain and maintain Fort Carson access.

Physical Requirements

The employee must regularly:

Stand and walk for extended periods. 

Bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach. 

Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds. 

Operate powered cleaning equipment. 

Work in indoor and outdoor environments under varying weather conditions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is performed primarily within Fort Carson facilities and may require travel between buildings 

throughout the installation. Employees are expected to wear the required personal protective equipment
