Responsibilities

NICU Dietary Technician


Location: Bon Secours St. Mary's Hospital of Richmond


Pay Rate: $22 an hour - Part-time


Work Shift: 9 am - 5 pm, 1-2 days Monday - Friday, and rotating weekends


Job Description:


  • Must be available 8-24 hours per week
  • Weekend availability and rotating holidays required

Responsibilities:


  • Preparation of daily human milk and formula infant feeds according to written formulations or recipes
  • Document, label and store prepared feedings for infants according to policies and procedures
  • Deliver prepared feeds to NICU refrigerators daily
  • Maintain records of infant feeding orders, preparation and inventory using electronic medical record and milk tracking systems
  • Operates all equipment needed to prepare feeds for infants in a safe, sanitary manner
  • Assist and train other technicians as needed to help department operate efficiently

Qualifications:


  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Diet technician or associate nutrition degree preferred
  • 1-2 years experience as a diet technician or related field in medical setting
  • Basic math skills required, including ability to pass a competency test post-training related to job function
  • Good personal hygiene, neat grooming and dress code compliance (scrubs, hats, masks provided by hospital)
  • Effective verbal and written communication

Physical Requirements:


  • Prolonged standing and walking throughout the day, frequent stooping, bending and lifting up to 40 pounds
  • Must be able to operate equipment necessary to perform essential functions
  • Must be able to pass background check and drug test
