SUMMARY
The primary purpose of this position is to perform assignments requiring judgment and problem-solving skills relating to robotic mig-welding processes. Assist with set up and change over's as it relates to mig welding.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Adopt a specific group of cells and focus on all aspects of welding robustness for the assigned area.
  • Teach robots points for optimum mig weld robustness.
  • Adjust weld fixtures to control end product dimensions and as well as mig weld gap/robustness.
  • Develop preventative maintenance procedures related to weld fixtures and weld guns.
  • Improve process robustness, uptime and cycle time by researching and improving weld consumables.
  • Maintain shim adjustment logs for assigned area.
  • Document and improve welding parameters.
  • Provides input in evaluation of equipment and processes.
  • Understand incoming part quality and its effect on mig weld/dimensional robustness.
  • Performs other functions as required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Prefer an associate's degree in a technical field. Minimum of a High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with 3-5years of experience in welding and welding techniques. Excellent problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
