As an Ingalls Sheetmetal Mechanic - Skilled, you are part of a dedicated team responsible for shaping, forming, and installing sheetmetal components throughout the ship. From ventilation systems to structural assemblies, your craftsmanship ensures functionality, durability, and performance in every weld, cut, and fit.

What You Can Earn
• Earn up to $37.79 per hour, depending on experience and skill level.

What You'll Do
• Fabricate, form, cut, and install sheetmetal for ventilation systems, structural components, and shipboard assemblies.
• Work from drawings, plans, templates, and specifications to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Assemble and install ductwork, bulkheads, hangers, foundations, and related systems.
• Use hand tools, power tools, shears, brakes, punches, and forming equipment.
• Support ship construction across diverse shipyard environments and be available to work any shift in a 24/7 manufacturing operation.

Must Have
Requires a minimum of one (1) year of sheetmetal experience or related craft experience in joiner, shipfitting, and/or carpentry.
Nice to Have
Prefer candidates with the ability to set up and operate a variety of sheetmetal machines such as brakes and shears, pass a skill assessment test, ability to read marine blueprints, and work from standard and metric specifications.
