Machine Operator
Are you a mechanically inclined professional looking to grow your career in advanced manufacturing? We are seeking a Machine Operator II to set up and operate machines while ensuring products meet blueprint specifications and quality standards.
In this role, you will work with precision manufacturing equipment, quality measurement systems, and automated processes to help deliver high-quality products in a safe, efficient, and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Select and prioritize production jobs using the Sites Control System or as directed by leadership.
  • Set up equipment by following work instructions, blueprints, and engineering specifications.
  • Develop and adjust basic CNC programs to support production requirements.
  • Adjust machine parameters and perform required robot calibrations.
  • Verify process capability using Statistical Process Control (SPC) and other control methods.
  • Utilize process-specific measurement systems to ensure products meet specifications.
  • Perform visual inspections to verify all products meet established quality standards.
  • Monitor operations to ensure processes achieve established efficiency and utilization targets.
  • Identify and support continuous improvement opportunities in partnership with peers, supervisors, and engineers.
  • Perform routine equipment and tooling maintenance, including evaluating tooling conditions and requirements.
  • Support team development by assisting with training and skill-building activities for less experienced operators.
  • Understand and properly utilize the robotic transport system as required.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including completion of daily housekeeping responsibilities.
  • Foster a positive work environment through teamwork, communication, collaboration, and respect across all departments.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
  • Maintain a strong commitment to workplace safety and environmental stewardship.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Current authorization to work in the United States.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Experience with CNC-controlled equipment, automation, or robotic systems.
  • Familiarity with precision measuring devices and quality inspection processes.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

  • Shift: Work Hours: 2nd (3:00PM to 11:15PM)
  • Pay Classification: W2 ($17.00 to $29.24)
  • This position requires current authorization to work in the United States. Sandvik cannot provide employment-based visa sponsorship for this role, now or in the future.
  • This position is onsite in Westminster, South Carolina. Remote, hybrid, or international work arrangements are not available.
