Working from directions assigned by the Line/Section Supervisor, the Sewing Machine Operator is responsible for assessing the quality of garment pieces before sewing and sewing parts of garments.

What You'll Do
  • Sew various parts of a garment including pieces like pockets, flaps, zippers, hoods and sleeves as well as attaching the lining to the shell to the given specification and appearance
  • Work as part of a team to complete garments
  • Review and assess the quality of garment pieces before sewing to ensure garments are up to Canada Goose quality standards
  • Ensure individual productivity quotas are met or exceeded daily, while at the same time maintaining Canada Goose quality standard
  • Learn new operations to achieve company goals of 100% efficiency or more
  • Adhere to Canada Goose rules, regulations, and code of conduct

  • Sewing experience in the Manufacturing and Apparel industry is considered an asset.
  • Experience on single needle, double needle, and seam serger machines is considered a definite asset
  • Ability to keep a steady hand while running fabric through a machine
  • Manual dexterity (the ability to quickly make coordinated movements with one or both hands to manipulate fabric)
  • Proven ability to follow instructions, problem solve and take initiative towards a solution
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

L'operateur(trice) de machine a coudre est responsable d'evaluer la qualite des pieces de vetements avant l'assemblage et d'assembler les differentes parties du vetement.

Vos Responsabilites
  • Coudre diverses parties d'un vetement, telles que les poches, rabats, fermetures eclair, capuches et manches, ainsi qu'assembler la doublure et la coquille, selon les specifications et l'apparence requises.
  • Travailler en equipe afin de completer la confection des vetements.
  • Examiner et evaluer la qualite des pieces de vetements avant la couture afin de s'assurer qu'elles respectent les standards de qualite de Canada Goose.
  • Atteindre ou depasser quotidiennement les quotas de productivite individuels tout en maintenant les standards de qualite de Canada Goose.
  • Apprendre de nouvelles operations afin de contribuer aux objectifs de l'entreprise visant une efficacite de 100 % ou plus.
  • Respecter les regles, reglements et code de conduite de Canada Goose.
Profil recherche
  • Experience en couture dans l'industrie manufacturiere et du vetement (atout).
  • Experience avec les machines a simple aiguille, double aiguille et surjeteuse (atout certain).
  • Capacite a maintenir une main ferme lors du passage du tissu dans la machine.
  • Habilete manuelle (capacite a effectuer rapidement des mouvements coordonnes avec une ou deux mains pour manipuler le tissu).
  • Capacite demontree a suivre les directives, resoudre des problemes et prendre des initiatives en vue d'une solution.
  • Aptitude a travailler de facon autonome dans un environnement dynamique.
  • Volonte d'apprendre et d'incarner constamment les valeurs de Canada Goose : innovation, respect, passion, responsabilite et esprit entrepreneurial, tout en demontrant un engagement personnel.
