Job Description

RRD's De Pere facility is seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Forklift Operator / Material Handler to join our fast-paced production team. • Production Support: Stage materials at printing presses to prevent production downtime. Safely remove finished goods from production lines.
  • Inventory Control: Verify shipping documents (bills of lading, packing slips) against incoming materials, enter received shipments into PWMS, accurately label goods and complete monthly audits.
  • Precision Handling: Safely handle paper stock, tightly packed mail trays, and print materials without causing damage.
  • Machine Setup: Set up and adjust slitter machine blades, guides, and counter settings based on job ticket specifications for width, length, and margin trim.
  • Material Loading: Use of roll clamps to safely load master print rolls onto the slitter unwind shaft.
  • Quality & Precision: Monitor the slitting process to ensure clean, straight cuts without jagged edges or tearing. Regularly measure finished pieces against client specs using calipers or rulers.
  • Safety & Maintenance: Conduct daily pre-operational inspections on operated equipment. Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free warehouse and production areas.
Qualifications

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: 1–3 years of experience operating a forklift, ideally in a direct mail facility or high-volume manufacturing environment preferred. We are willing to train the right candidate.
  • Certification: Forklift certification not required; willing to train and certify reliable, motivated, and safety conscious candidates.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand or sit for extended periods, and work comfortably in a busy production environment.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to read and understand shipping and receiving documentation, matching material codes to specific client print runs to prevent mixing up critical project components.
