  • Oversee the day-to-day functions of the Consumer Loan Department and ensure departmental goals are achieved.
  • Develop and execute consumer lending strategies that support loan growth, profitability, and exceptional member service.
  • Exercise loan approval authority within established limits and assist staff with complex lending decisions, escalations, and exceptions.
  • Monitor consumer loan portfolio performance, including delinquency, charge-offs, loan quality, and risk trends.
  • Identify opportunities to improve lending products, policies, procedures, workflows, and overall efficiency.
  • Analyze lending production, portfolio performance, and key performance indicators to identify trends and recommend improvements.
  • Partner with Retail Operations, Marketing, Collections, Compliance, Information Technology, and other departments to support lending and organizational initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to develop consumer loan promotions and initiatives that support loan growth.
  • Work with Information Technology and third-party vendors to optimize lending systems, underwriting tools, and operational processes.
  • Coordinate consumer lending training, education, and professional development for lending staff.
  • Keep executive leadership informed of key lending trends, operational risks, and departmental performance.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, accountability, and member-focused service.
What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 3-5 years of progressively responsible consumer lending experience, including supervisory or management experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of consumer lending principles, underwriting, credit analysis, and loan servicing.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state regulations affecting consumer lending.
  • Proven leadership, coaching, mentoring, and employee development skills.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities, with experience interpreting lending reports and portfolio performance.
  • Experience with automated underwriting systems, loan origination software, and core processing systems.
  • A proven track record of selling and servicing loans.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, relationship-building, and supervisory skills.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving abilities.
