Job description

Hunt Forest Products, LLC is currently accepting resumes for a Procurement Manager position at its state-of-the-art sawmill in Taylor, LA.

Role/Functions:
  • Ensure a steady and cost-effective raw material supply to Bienville Lumber, LLC
  • Develop and maintain supply agreements with Landowners and Suppliers
  • Reconnaissance of Stumpage Sales/Gatewood and Tract Pricing
  • Maintain knowledge of current timber markets/regularly scheduled reporting of log prices, availability, and market conditions
  • Manage log inventory/Work with Plant Manager to ensure log quality and specification
  • Coordinate Log Flow with other Procurement Managers and Woodflow Manager at Hunt Forest Products, LLC facilities
  • Promote and maintain a safe work environment
  • SFI Fiber Sourcing Certification-Develop and maintain certification at Bienville Lumber, LLC. Responsible for internal and annual audits for SFI Fiber Source Certification
  • Reports to Woodflow Manager-Hunt Forest Products, LLC
  • Moderate travel required
Preferred Skills:
  • Strong Interpersonal and Communication Skills
  • Familiar with common data and industry analytical tools such as Microsoft Office and Forest 2 Market/TimberMart South
  • Team Building and Safety Oriented
Qualifications and Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Forestry from an SAF Accredited University
  • Knowledge and Experience with Forest Certification/SFI, FSC, and American Tree Farm
  • Timber Procurement and Management Experience preferred
