Job Description Summary
The Oakland University School of Nursing seeks multiple full-time Visiting Instructors for the 2026-2027 academic year. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses, clinical rotations, and/or lab/simulation based on expertise. Candidates must hold (or be eligible for) Michigan RN licensure and a master's or doctoral degree in nursing. Preferred applicants will have specialty expertise in areas such as acute care, OB, pediatrics, mental health, leadership, or simulation, along with prior teaching experience. Strong communication skills, community engagement, and a demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion are essential.
Minimum Qualifications
Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Michigan, or eligibility for licensure in the state, and a master's or doctoral degree (PhD, DNP, DNSc, or equivalent) in nursing from an accredited institution

The School of Nursing offers high quality and accessible education through the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Programs (COA) accredited programs, including three BSN tracks (Basic/Traditional, Accelerated Second-Degree, and RN-BSN Completion), five MSN tracks (Adult-Gerontological Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (NP), Adult-Gerontological Primary Care NP, Family NP, Forensic Nursing, and Clinical Nurse Leader), and two DNP tracks (Nurse Anesthesia and Post-Master's DNP), in program with post-BSN, post-MSN, and post-DNP options. The search will continue until the position is filled.
