We are currently seeking Environmental Chemistry and Chemical Forensics Scientists for ourEnvironmental and Earth SciencesPractice inBurlington, MA. In this role, you will work as part of a team to provide technical analysis on existing projects and business development efforts.


  • Providing support to clients and to your team in Exponentโ€™s Environmental and Earth Sciences Practice, with a focus on environmental chemistry data analysis and chemical fingerprinting to identify sources of chemicals in soil, sediment, groundwater, and air
  • Supporting multidisciplinary project teams on exciting and challenging projects that construct history of industrial operations and contaminant releases to identify liabilities among responsible parties
  • Investing in your professional development by:
    • Attending conference presentations and participating in journal publications
    • Expanding your professional visibility
    • Developing client relationships

  • Ph.D. in Civil, Environmental, or Geologic Engineering, Environmental/Earth Science, Environmental Chemistry, or a related discipline
  • Three to five (3-5) years of environmental litigation support experience with a consulting company in the United States is required
  • Familiarity with environmental chemistry, contaminant fate and transport, PFAS, chlorinated solvents, PCBs, among other organic and inorganic compounds; apportionment and allocation of response costs is a plus
  • Strong interest in career and professional development within a dynamic consulting environment
  • Excellent communication, organization, and writing skills
  • Detail-oriented, able to work independently, and manage time effectively
  • Strong ability to prioritize multiple projects with competing deadlines
  • Presently legally authorized to work in the United States.  No immigration sponsorship or processing required.

Our consultants are rewarded for their technical and business contributions and have an opportunity to plan for future success and career growth. Exponent's total compensation plan is consistent with its expectations of the quality and quantity of work performed and with the professional standards set by Exponent. At the Manager level and above total compensation includes base salary, annual bonus, and 401(k) employer contribution of 7% of base salary.


The base salary range for this position is dependent on experience and capabilities which will be assessed during the interview process.


USD $122,000.00 - USD $149,000.00 /Yr.
