Job description

Mii amo is seeking an inspired and experienced Executive Chef to lead the culinary program at our award-winning destination spa in Sedona, Arizona.

As a Forbes Five-Star and Relais & Châteaux property, Mii amo is committed to exceptional cuisine, highly personalized service and meaningful guest experiences. This position requires a thoughtful culinary leader who understands that food is an essential part of well-being.

The Executive Chef will develop a distinctive culinary experience centered on seasonality, nutrition, flavor and a strong sense of place. The ideal candidate will balance creativity with operational discipline while upholding the standards of Forbes Five-Star hospitality and Relais & Châteaux.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership and direction for the Mii amo culinary program.

  • Create seasonal menus that celebrate fresh ingredients, balanced nutrition and the flavors of the region.

  • Develop thoughtful options for a wide range of dietary preferences, allergies and wellness goals.

  • Uphold Forbes Five-Star, Relais & Châteaux and company standards.

  • Maintain exceptional standards for food quality, presentation, consistency and sanitation.

  • Build a culinary culture focused on teamwork, accountability, creativity and professional development.

  • Recruit, train, mentor and retain a talented culinary team.

  • Maintain an active presence in the kitchen, dining room and overall guest experience.

  • Connect personally with guests, gather feedback and customize experiences whenever possible.

  • Collaborate with the Food & Beverage, wellness, spa and resort leadership teams.

  • Participate in culinary demonstrations, special events, retreats and guest programming.

  • Manage food costs, labor, purchasing, inventory and departmental budgets.

  • Develop strong relationships with local farmers, ranchers, artisans and specialty suppliers.

  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety and company standards.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as an Executive Chef, Executive Sous Chef or senior culinary leader within a luxury resort, destination spa or high-end restaurant.

  • Strong knowledge of wellness-focused cuisine, nutrition-conscious cooking and dietary accommodations.

  • Demonstrated success leading, developing and retaining culinary teams.

  • Excellent menu-development, organizational and financial-management skills.

  • Ability to balance creativity with consistency and operational excellence.

  • Strong communication skills and a genuine desire to engage with guests.

  • Experience within Forbes Five-Star, Relais & Châteaux or comparable luxury hospitality environments strongly preferred.

  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience preferred.
