Job description

Work-Study - ARC
Part-Time, multiple shifts available Monday-Friday 8am-6pm
Job Responsibilities:
The front desk receptionist plays a vital role in creating a welcoming first impression for the Academic Resource Center (ARC). The ARC Front Desk Assistant supports students during peak hours by providing assistance as directed by ARC tutors. This position requires strong communication, computer, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to offer technical help to ARC users.
Key Responsibilities:
• Greet and assist students, staff, and visitors with courtesy, and monitor sign-in/sign-out using Accudemia
• Answer phone calls, provide information about ARC services, and direct inquiries to the appropriate staff or campus department
• Remind users to check in and out, ensuring accurate tracking of ARC usage
• Assist students with hands-on materials such as manipulatives and textbooks
• Check out calculators to students as needed
• Help students navigate student email, MyTech, and Canvas platforms
• Conduct head-counts every 15-30 minutes to monitor ARC occupancy
• Encourage students to pick up scraps and keep walkways clear
• Clean and disinfect tables and whiteboards regularly
• Direct visitors to other campus resources, such as the Testing Center, Counseling, or Financial Aid
• Respond to questions related to ARC services and college resources
• Assist with opening or closing the ARC or Library, depending on assigned shift
Hourly Pay Rate: $15.00/hour (part-time, non-benefit eligible)
Work Schedule: Maximum of 10 hours per week
