Join the Seaboard Team Today!

At Seaboard Transport, we’re proud to be a leader in safe, reliable, and efficient transportation solutions. We’re looking for a Dispatcher who thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves solving problems on the fly, and wants to play a key role in keeping our operations running smoothly.

As the heartbeat of our operations, you’ll be the main point of contact for drivers—coordinating schedules, managing dispatches, and ensuring every load is delivered safely and on time. If you’re a strong communicator with a knack for staying organized and calm under pressure, this is your chance to make a real impact in a vital role.

Location: Sherwood Park, AB
Schedule: Days | Rotation | 5 on 5 off - 5 on 5 off - 4 on 4 off

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and manage driver schedules, promptly communicating variances to Operations Manager and General Manager.
  • Receive, verify, and log customer orders and dips in the Transportation Management Software (TMW) system.
  • Schedule loads prioritizing safety, customer service, and efficiency based on customer information logged in the TMW system.
  • Communicate dispatch details to drivers, including shift plans, plot plans, TMW numbers, truck and trailer information.
  • Answer incoming calls from drivers and customers, address general inquiries, and direct calls to the appropriate contact.
  • Confirm delivery of loads to customer site, ensuring the TMW system is updated; escalate delays or changes to operations management team.
  • Record and report all safety and service incidents to management.
  • Provide coverage for after-hours calls while carrying the designated phone during shifts.
  • Ensure accurate communication of critical information to drivers, such as load details, customer site addresses, reference numbers, weights, weather updates, optimal routes, etc.
  • Continuously verify assigned loads with drivers, ensuring completion of previous day’s loads, coordination of current day’s assignments, and confirmation of scheduled loads for the following day.
  • Monitor and manage driver vacation, personal, and reset times, escalating concerns as necessary to operations management team.
  • Support drivers on how to properly scan paperwork and troubleshoot simple eLog (PeopleNet) issues.
  • Verify driver pay accuracy by ensuring routing and accessorial pay details are timely entered into the TMW system.
  • Collaborate with the Operations, Safety, Driver Care Centre and Shop team to provide support to team members as required.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers within your assigned fleet for all issues or inquiries.
  • Assist co-workers with dispatch boards to ensure overall team success across the division.
What You Bring
  • Post-secondary education in business, logistics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years of experience in transportation or logistics; dispatch experience is a strong asset.
  • Knowledge of ELD systems and TMW software is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills—you're the calm in the storm.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
  • A team-player attitude and a passion for problem-solving.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer systems.

Why You’ll Love Working Here
  • Be part of a collaborative, high-performing operations team.
  • Take ownership of a role that directly impacts our drivers’ success and customer satisfaction.
  • Enjoy a dynamic work environment where every night brings new challenges and wins.
  • Competitive compensation and benefits package.
