Job Summary/Basic Function
RESPONSIBILITIES:Under the Supervision of the Assistant Athletic Director of External Operations, The Coordinator of Sports Communication and Multimedia will be involved in the department's day-to-day operations, including developing and implementing Marauder communications and digital media plan. The successful candidate will help coordinate the day-to-day execution of all logistics related to sports information duties for football and men's/women's volleyball, men's/women's basketball, cross country, and track and field programs. This person will serve as the primary contact for these sports as it relates to publicity, media, website maintenance, social media, statistics, storytelling, multimedia needs, and gameday operations.
The candidate will be asked to supervise student workers during game coverage of home and away events. Additional multimedia projects and special assignments will be given based on capability and project need.
DUTIES:
Work Closely with the Assistant AD of External Operations to create a comprehensive plan to operate all aspects of media communications for marauder sports, including, but not limited to...
• Weekly releases, weekly awards, and post-seasons coverage.
• Responding to media requests as well as incoming inquiries from internal and external
audiences.
• Manages and supervises the press box and scorer's table during home athletic events.
• Create compelling content such as press releases, feature stories, and social media posts
highlighting athletes, coaches, athletic alumni, staff and events.
• Oversee and support the design of graphics for print and electronic use in promoting Marauder
Athletics.
• Support student photographers and videographers; assist students working at athletic events.
• Provide or schedule photography at all Marauder Athletics, university, and conference events.
• Produce audio and video pieces for use in promoting Marauder Athletics.
• Oversight and maintenance of the athletic website.
• Work closely with the Student Media Team to manage and continually build Marauder Athletics 'social media presence.
• Research Marauder sport history to develop database of records.
• Plan, develop and successfully execute coaches shows, athletic podcast or other promotional
events for Marauder Athletics
A working knowledge of the following is required:
• Microsoft Office products
• Planning and organizing events
• Social media platforms including, but not limited to: Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, X and Youtube
A working knowledge of the following is preferred or desire to learn:
• Adobe Creative Suite, including, but not limited to: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator,
Premiere Pro and After Effects experience is preferred
• Athletic website content management software (Sidearm) experience is preferred
• Digital and Video scoreboard management experience is preferred
Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience working in sports media, communications or related field
• The successful candidate will possess strong verbal, written, and online communication skills,
organizational and interpersonal skills, and must be able to manage multiple responsibilities under pressure and with tight deadlines.
• Experience utilizing social media to increase visibility and grow the University's brand.
• Travel and some night and weekend work are required.
