Job description

The NFL is seeking a Manager, Flag Football to play a key role in driving the growth of youth flag football. This individual will be responsible for growing global youth participation, with a focus on the U.S., and is a critical member of the Flag integrated team, collaborating across the League, 32 NFL Clubs, and the broader flag football ecosystem to accelerate the growth of flag football.

This is a key leadership role that, in partnership with internal and external stakeholders, will play a formative role in the development of the youth flag football ecosystem during a period of exciting growth. This role requires strategic thinking, operational prowess, and strong partnership management skills. The Manager will serve as the point of contact for key strategic partnerships and will work closely with leaders across the League (including in Football Operations, International, Marketing, Comms, Events, Club Business Development, and Social Responsibility) to operationalize these partnerships and other key initiatives in the flag space. This position reports to the VP, Flag Football and offers significant exposure to senior NFL executives and an opportunity to shape the future of flag football at a national and global level.

Responsibilities

  • Develop & Execute Growth Strategy - Lead initiatives to expand youth flag football participation, driving engagement among key audiences, including players, parents, coaches, officials, and administrators.
  • Manage Strategic Partnerships - Serve as the primary liaison for key partners on flag football, including RCX Sports, GENYOUth, other youth organizations, and federations, ensuring operational alignment and maximizing impact.
  • Lead & Execute Flag Football Events - Serve as Flag lead for all youth- focused flag activations, including NFL FLAG Championships. Lead strategy and drive collaboration across internal & external stakeholders, ensuring seamless execution and maximal impact.
  • Awareness & Engagement - Oversee all phases of the participation funnel, from increasing awareness to enhancing player development through innovative programs and resources.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration - Work closely with internal teams such as Marketing, Events, Sponsorship, and Broadcasting to integrate flag football initiatives into broader NFL priorities.
  • Lead Meetings & Stakeholder Engagement - Organize and lead meetings with League, Club, and external partners, operating as a strategic project manager driving agendas and actionable outcomes.
  • Support International Growth - Partner with the International Flag team to share best practices and assist with global event execution where needed.
  • Strategic Planning & Execution - Support the VP, Flag Football in continuing to build out and evolve long-term strategy and for youth flag football within the broader framework of the Global Flag Football team

Required Qualifications

  • B.A/B.S. required
  • Minimum 5+ years of professional experience, with a focus in partnership management, flag/youth football, sports events/operations, or consulting
  • Proven ability to lead and influence complex cross-functional teams and manage external partnerships. Experience working with marketing, media, and event teams is a plus
  • Exceptional project management skills with strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and presentation development
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to navigate high-level discussions with discretion and sound judgment
  • Deep understanding of the NFL and football ecosystem

Key Attributes & Skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects in high-pressure environments
  • Experience with data analysis, reporting tools/dashboards, and consumer insights is a plus
  • Experience operating youth sports events is a plus
  • Experience working internationally is a plus

Terms / Expected Hours of Work

  • NFL employees are required to work 40 hours per week in the office. This role may often require hours on nights and/or weekends as well.
