Job description

DHS Color Guard Sponsor - (Supplement: $1,000)

 Responsibilities: 

  • Coordinate and supervise the high school color guard program in collaboration with the Band Director.
  • Teach and reinforce basic color guard techniques, routines, choreography, and performance expectations.
  • Conduct or assist with after-school rehearsals and scheduled practices.
  • Prepare students for marching band performances, competitions, football games, parades, and other school events.
  • Supervise students during rehearsals, performances, travel, and other color guard activities.
  • Assist with the organization, care, and storage of flags, uniforms, props, and other color guard equipment.
  • Promote student safety, appropriate behavior, teamwork, and adherence to school and district expectations.
  • Communicate with the Band Director regarding student participation, attendance, performance needs, and scheduling.
  • Attend designated evening, weekend, and summer activities as agreed upon with the Band Director.
  • Perform other reasonable duties related to the color guard program consistent with the scope of the stipend position.
