Position: Sports Specialist (Assistant Football Coach) Salary: $22.01hour +DOE*

DUTIES:

This position is located at the US Naval Academy Preparatory School in Newport, Rhode Island.


Serve as an assistant Football coach, supporting the Head Football coach at the Naval Academy Preparatory School (NAPS).


This is a 10-month position from July-May every year, with benefits continuing through the summer months. The incumbent will be on LWOP status for two months.


The Assistant Football coach, under the guidance of the NAPS Director of Athletics, helps in development and improvement in football of the athletes to include practice planning, in -game support and coaching and training programs.


Responsible for oversight and monitoring Coast Guard Academy preparatory candidates assigned to NAPS.

Support the NAPS Athletics Director, performing duties assigned such as operations and administrative support.

Report back to USCGA Director of Athletics and Director of Admissions (and their designees) on status of USCGA candidates assigned at NAPS on a regular basis.


Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Minimum:

1. Collegiate football experience

2. Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations

3. Bachelors Degree


Preferred (in addition to the minimum):

1. Collegiate or HS football coaching experience

2. Demonstrated experience in recruiting athletically talented, academically qualified and diverse student athletes

to an academically rigorous institution
