Job description

Women's Head Flag Football Coach 

Title: Head Coach Women's Flag Football
Department: Athletics
Reports To: Director of Athletics

Position Summary

The Head Coach for Women's Flag Football is responsible for the overall development, administration, and leadership of the Lake Norman High School Women's Flag Football program. The Head Coach will ensure the program operates with integrity, in full compliance with all institutional, conference, and NCHSAA rules, and with a commitment to the academic and personal success of the student-athletes.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

Coaching and Team Management

  • Plan, organize, and conduct all team practices, training sessions, and competition schedules.
  • Develop game strategies, in-game coaching, and provide individual and group instruction to enhance player performance and skill development.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and competitive team culture that emphasizes good sportsmanship, discipline, and commitment.
  • Implement strategies to maximize student-athlete retention within the program.

Student-Athlete Welfare and Academic Monitoring

  • Monitor and support the academic progress and classroom engagement of all student-athletes to ensure continued eligibility.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to student-athletes regarding their personal conduct, development, and well-being.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and coordinate with the Athletic Training staff for injury prevention and care.

Qualifications and Requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous coaching and/or playing experience in flag football, tackle football, or a related sport, preferably at the high school level (Assistant or Head Coach).
  • Current First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications.
  • Knowledge of NCHSAA rules and regulations.
  • Experience working with a diverse student body.
