Job description

The Nutrition Associate assists in all areas of Food Service operation. Primary duties include but are not limited to collecting patient meal selections; tray assembly; nourishment, enteral feeding and formula preparation; meal and nourishment delivery to patients; tray collection; diet changes; dishwashing; cleaning and customer service.

  1. Minimum Grade 10 education or equivalent
  2. Demonstrated skills developed through experience in efficient, hygienic, cleaning techniques and knowledge of the food production system
  3. Physically capable of carrying out duties which may include heavy lifting
  4. Demonstrated ability to assume responsibility and to perform duties with minimal direct supervision
  5. Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment by taking on both leader and follower roles as required, cooperating with the team objectives, and taking initiative to assist in the completion of tasks
  6. Demonstrated ability to understand and communicate in English, both verbal and written and ability to communicate by initiating and communicating in a sensitive, thoughtful, and timely manner
  7. Demonstrated ability to problem solve
  8. Valid Food Handlers Certificate
