Food and Nutrition Associate
5 am to 1:30 pm

Virginia Gay Hospital, established in Vinton in 1923, is an independent, nonprofit critical access hospital supported by a strong local community. The organization includes a 25-bed hospital and four family medical clinics located throughout Benton County, Iowa, offering high-quality, local healthcare and opportunities for professional growth and meaningful patient relationships.

Position Summary
  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•The Food Service Assistant performs designated work and cleaning routines for the Food amp; Nutritional Services Department and is accountable to the Dietitian. In the absence of the Dietitian, the Food amp; Nutritional Service Assistant is accountable to the Cook.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (from job description)
•The Food Service Assistant must have a high school diploma, or GED equivalent. Previous nutritional or institutional food service is preferred but not required. Must have the ability to read, understand and follow recipe directions, diet orders, tray cards, and work assignments. The Food amp; Nutritional Services must complete a Sanitation Safety Course within 30 days of employment.
