Job Description We are seeking a Food Safety & Quality Assurance Supervisor to join a growing food manufacturing operation in South Carolina. This position is responsible for leading and maintaining the facility's food safety and sanitation programs while ensuring compliance with USDA regulations, company policies, and customer requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with operations, sanitation, and quality teams to promote a strong food safety culture through training, auditing, verification, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, and maintain food safety programs that ensure compliance with regulatory and company requirements. Maintain and manage SSOP, HACCP, and prerequisite programs, ensuring documentation is accurate and up to date. Audit SSOP and HACCP records and communicate findings to plant leadership. Partner with USDA inspectors and maintain positive working relationships while ensuring regulatory compliance. Train employees at all levels on food safety, HACCP, SSOP, GMPs, and related programs. Investigate food safety concerns and implement effective corrective and preventive actions. Conduct annual validation activities supporting food safety programs and scientific documentation. Monitor daily plant operations to verify compliance with food safety and sanitation procedures. Analyze food safety data and trends to identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Support internal and external food safety audits and ensure timely follow-up on findings. Promote a culture of food safety awareness throughout the facility. Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Animal Science, Biology, Chemistry, Operations Management, or a related field. 1–3 years of food safety or quality assurance experience in a food manufacturing environment. HACCP Certification required. Working knowledge of USDA regulations, GMPs, SSOPs, HACCP, and labeling requirements. Experience participating in or leading food safety and regulatory audits. Familiarity with HACCP verification, monitoring, and validation processes. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Preferred Experience Experience in a USDA-regulated food manufacturing facility. Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
