Job Description/Responsibilities
We are looking for Processing techs to join our prep department. The Batch Preparer is responsible for preparing and mixing ingredients for our variety of beverage products. The ideal candidates will have experience in a fast-paced beverage manufacturing environment. The position must have a particular eye for attention to details and can thoroughly follow instructions. The ideal candidate must be able to understand some basic formula terminologies and have a natural curiosity for more knowledge with our products.
  • Mix formulas in accordance with written procedures, including verifying ingredient quantities and quality
  • Follow management's direction pertaining to batch schedule, housekeeping items, and any additional duties for the day
  • Clean/sanitize equipment, tanks, hoses, and lines
  • Receive and unload tankers of liquid sugar, alcohol, and product
  • Complete required paperwork, e.g., Batch Production Sheets, logs
  • Transport ingredients around warehouse via forklift
  • Maintain a safe and sanitary environment and report any areas of concern to management
  • Weigh partial ingredients, label ingredients appropriately and reseal with tamper-resistant tape
  • Participate in the batch approval process, assist in root cause analysis for out of specification batches
  • Perform lab quality testing of batches and ingredients
  • Must be able to drive a forklift
  • Can lift at least 25 pounds of products
  • Adhere to safety and GMP protocols
  • Team player and collaborative with other team members
  • Ensures that the schedule of compounded bulk batches is met when delegated by the compounding manager and ensures that the bulk is manufactured according to customer specifications and in compliance with FDA, GMP, and OSHA guidelines
  • Ensures that all documentation associated with compounding meets all FDA, GMP, and internal quality policies
  • Provides firsthand practical knowledge of the compounding process to the compounding manager when needed for efficiency improvements and validating new batches
  • Assists in the validation or scale-up of compounded bulk batches.
  • Ensures that compounding equipment is maintained and requests repair when necessary
  • Performs non-conformance investigations as directed by the compounding manager
  • Provides suggestions and input for the improvement of the compounding process
  • Able to assess and resolve issues that may arise during the shift
  • Manages conflicts, performs disciplinary actions when necessary
  • Some knowledge of lean manufacturing, 5s, 5 why's, root cause analysis, problem solving
  • Effective communication skills

Qualifications/Requirements
  • Can read, write, and speak English
  • At least six months work experienced in a food or beverage manufacturing work environment
  • Knowledge of food / beverage safety & sanitary handling
  • Can work independently with minimal oversight and complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Can at least lift and carry 25 pounds of products daily as needed
  • Can manage staffing within assigned department
  • Bilingual a plus
