Summary:
The Packing House General Laborer performs a variety of tasks to support the overall operation of the packing house. This role assists in multiple areas, including but not limited to lining trays with bags, placing box liners, operating the cherry auto feeder, working on the packing line, and supporting the box feeder. This position requires working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards and following all food safety and workplace safety guidelines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
โ€ข Inspect product for quality and remove damaged or defective fruit
โ€ข Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
โ€ข Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene requirements
โ€ข Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures
โ€ข Work efficiently to meet daily production goals
โ€ข Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors
Skills and Qualifications:
โ€ข Must be 18 years or older
โ€ข Must complete required training provided by Orchard View, Inc.
โ€ข Ability to understand verbal and follow basic verbal and written communication.
โ€ข Must have reliable transportation.
โ€ข Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions:
โ€ข Schedule includes Monday through Sunday workdays.
โ€ข Employees may work up to 10 hours per day and 60 hours per week.
Physical Requirements:
โ€ข Ability to stand, walk, and stretch for extended periods.
โ€ข Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
โ€ข May involve repetitive motion, including substantial hand and wrist movement.
โ€ข Must be able to walk up and down stairs.
โ€ข Must wear appropriate, clean clothing and footwear suitable for working conditions; clothing must be free of rips, tears, or loose fabric that could pose a safety risk.
