POSITION SUMMARY:
An Order Selector retrieves ordered items from the Distribution Center's picking area and prepares them for shipment. Order Selector is to identify the items using an RF scanner that contains a specific store order (Department). The items are handled directly from the pick location to a wood pallet incrust to an electric pallet jack. An Order Selector follows safety regulations while operating any handling equipment. This role is important because an Order Selector ensures that customers get exactly what they ordered and in delivered in good condition.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Ensure work areas are kept clean, neat, and well-organized.
• Move product from a pick location to wood pallet with the correct quantities.
• Build and wrap pallet until pallet is safe and secure.
• Ensure complete pallet is labeled correctly and place on the correct staging location.
• Comply with OSHA safety regulations.
• Assist in maintaining security of warehouse (report any violations).
• Complete task assigned by RF scanner or DC Manager.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
* 1+ year(s) of experience in a warehouse environment.
* Teamwork oriented and self-motivated.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Ability to use a reach/forklift and pallet jack.
* Good attendance and punctual; must show up on time, work scheduled shifts, and work mandatory overtime.
* Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, Team Member is required to stand for long periods of time. Additional requirements include frequent lifting of material up to 75 pounds; frequently twisting, turning, reaching, pushing, and pulling; handle tools or controls; reaching with hands and arms; climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is normally performed in a warehouse/production environment. As part of the job requirements, Team Members may be exposed to work in a production setting and extreme temperatures (10 to 100 degrees) at times. Facility regularly processes known food allergens, including peanuts. Must be flexible with work schedule that supports a 24-hour production facility. Schedule may include weekends and overtime.
