Location: Wesley Glen | 5155 North High Street, Columbus, Ohio 43214
Schedule: Full-Time |7:00am - 3:30pm including rotating weekends

You are a dependable and detail-oriented culinary professional who values quality, safety, and service. You enjoy working in a collaborative kitchen environment and are passionate about creating meals that meet high standards and bring enjoyment to our residents.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare food using established procedures and recipes
    • Determine amount and type of food and supplies required using production systems
    • Ensures availability of supplies and food or approved substitutions in adequate time for preparation
    • Set steam table and station; serves or ensures proper serving of food in dining room, nursing unit, salad bar and associate food line if applicable
  • Follow all HACCP protocols and complies with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene and health standards. Observe proper food preparation and handling techniques.
  • Store food properly and safely, marking the date and item. Maintains storage areas.
    • Ensure all items in all necessary areas are labeled and dated.
  • Correctly prepares all food served following standard recipes and special diet orders. Preps food as necessary.
  • Plans food production to coordinate with meal serving hours so that excellence, quality, temperature and presentation of food are preserved.
  • Keeps work area net and clean at all times; cleans and maintains equipment used in food preparation. Reports necessary equipment repair and maintenance to supervisor
  • Completes food temperature checks before service.

Requirements
  • Some High School education
  • Some prior experience in related food service is required
  • Must be at least 18 years old, due to Hazardous Occupations Order of the Dept of Labor.
  • Must posses a customer service background and orientation
  • A minimum of 1 year related experience in a continuing care retirement community, hospital, hotel, restaurant or similar facility as a Line Cook is preferred
  • Serv Safe Certification preferred
