Job description

Summary/Objective
The Sanitation Worker is responsible for the sanitary functions of the plant. This includes inside and outside duties. The Sanitation worker will work alongside production and help when needed.
Essential Functions
Promotes and adheres to company safety work rules and regulations
Performs cleaning and sanitation duties in assigned areas
Operates all machinery in the assigned cleaning area
Operates lift trucks and loaders as needed
Performs cleaning and upkeep duties necessary for the proper functioning of a machine, building, etc. as required
Disassembles and assembles simple mechanisms.
Performs simple tests and documents sampling information as needed
Attends and participates in all annual, department, job specific required training
Keeps facility clean and orderly in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
Helps to build and promote a strong “Teamwork” environment in each individual work group, the Factory, and the Company.
Participates in continuous improvement process
Maintains safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
Follow master sanitation schedule
Clean bathrooms, offices, sinks, and drains throughout the plant; fill supplies as needed
Scrape and mom floors throughout plant
Keep dishwashing area clean and organized, clean white barrels
Bale cardboard and recyclable plastic

This job operates in a professional manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses standard sanitations tools and works on confectionary surfaces. This position requires most of the work to be performed on the manufacturing floor in an area that requires hearing protection at some times. This role is performed around finished product and requires good sanitation, hygiene, and good manufacturing policies to be followed.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. 90% plant/manufacturing environment with 10% outdoors. Exposure to noise, heat, cold, slippery, and wet conditions. Throughout the day, the employee will need to lift or pull up to 50 lbs. of material, depending on department.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 6 am to 2:30 pm. Times may fluctuate depending on department and during the year to accommodate production, schedules (will include Saturdays, possible Sundays during busy season)
Required Education and Experience
Some experience in a manufacturing environment with a specialty in sanitation. Food experience is a plus.
Qualifications
At least 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing and mechanical role
Be able to read and follow formulas, schedules, and various temperature controls
Basic math, writing, speaking and spelling skills,
Mechanically inclined, organized with clean work habits
