Kforce has a client that is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for a $50M+ Food Distribution Company/Scaling Growth and Operations in Boston, MA. About the Opportunity: A growing, family-owned distribution and food processing company with approximately $50M in annual revenue is seeking a strategic and hands-on Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join its executive leadership team. This organization has a strong market presence and is entering an exciting phase of expansion, creating an opportunity for a finance leader to help drive operational excellence, scalability, and long-term growth. Reporting directly to ownership, the CFO will oversee all aspects of finance, accounting, treasury, reporting, forecasting, and operational planning. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of strategic leadership and day-to-day execution, with experience in manufacturing, food and beverage, CPG, distribution, or other inventory-intensive environments. Responsibilities: Lead all finance and accounting functions for the organization Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and analysis Manage budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and KPI reporting Partner with ownership and operational leaders to drive profitable growth and improve business performance Lead cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, and working capital optimization Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic business decisions Drive process improvements across finance, accounting, manufacturing, and distribution operations Partner closely with operations leaders to optimize inventory management, production efficiency, and supply chain performance Support business expansion initiatives, capital investments, and operational scaling efforts Manage external relationships including auditors, banks, insurance providers, and advisors Lead, mentor, and develop a finance team of six professionals, including a Controller Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA and/or MBA preferred 15+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, including experience as a CFO, Vice President of Finance Strong background within manufacturing, food processing, distribution, consumer products (CPG), or other inventory-intensive industries Experience managing financial operations within a privately held or family-owned business environment preferred Deep understanding of financial planning and analysis, cash flow management, inventory accounting, and operational finance Proven ability to partner with operations and drive business performance improvements Strong leadership skills with experience building and developing high-performing teams Experience working in fast-paced, growth-oriented environments Excellent communication and executive presentation skills The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future. We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave. Note: Pay is not considered compensation until it is earned, vested and determinable.
