How much do food chain jobs pay per hour?

As of Jun 25, 2026, the average hourly pay for food chain in the United States is $25.15, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $19.23 and $28.37 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What are the roles in a food chain?

In a food chain, the roles include producers (such as plants that create energy through photosynthesis), consumers (organisms that eat other organisms, like herbivores and carnivores), and decomposers (organisms like fungi and bacteria that break down dead matter). Each role is essential for energy transfer and ecosystem balance, and understanding these roles helps in ecological and environmental jobs related to conservation and research.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Food Chain Manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Food Chain Manager, you need expertise in supply chain management, food safety regulations, inventory control, and typically a relevant degree in business or food management. Familiarity with inventory management software, HACCP protocols, and point-of-sale systems is commonly required. Strong leadership, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills help you coordinate teams and manage vendor relationships effectively. These skills are vital to ensure food quality, safety, cost efficiency, and smooth operations throughout the supply chain.

What are food chains?

A food chain is a sequence that shows how energy and nutrients flow from one organism to another in an ecosystem. It typically begins with producers like plants, which are eaten by herbivores, and then continues with carnivores and decomposers. Each link in the chain represents a different trophic level, illustrating the transfer of energy and matter. Food chains are important for understanding the balance and health of ecosystems, as disruption in one part can affect the entire system.

What job makes $10,000 a month without a degree?

In the food industry, high-level roles such as restaurant owners or franchise operators can earn $10,000 or more monthly without a formal degree, especially if they own multiple locations or have significant experience. These positions often require strong business skills, management experience, and capital investment rather than formal education.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals working in food chain management, and how can they be addressed?

Professionals in food chain management often encounter challenges such as maintaining product quality throughout the supply chain, ensuring food safety compliance, and managing logistics to minimize waste and delays. These challenges can be addressed through regular supplier audits, implementing robust inventory tracking systems, and staying updated on food safety regulations. Effective communication and collaboration with suppliers, distributors, and internal teams are also crucial for overcoming these obstacles and ensuring that products reach consumers safely and efficiently.

What jobs pay $2000 a day?

High-paying jobs that can earn $2000 or more per day include specialized roles such as senior corporate executives, certain investment bankers, and highly experienced surgeons. These positions typically require advanced education, extensive experience, and often involve high levels of responsibility and skill. Compensation varies based on industry, location, and individual performance.

This is a high-impact role where your consultative selling skills and strategic account management will directly influence how the industry operates at scale and position TAC as the trusted partner transforming the global food system.

What you'll do

  • Lead enterprise account strategy and relationship development with C-suite executives (CEOs, COOs, CFOs) at major agricultural producers, food processors, and supply chain organizations to enhance TELUS Agriculture & Consumer Goods' presence and influence in the commercial market, positioning yourself as a trusted strategic advisor.
  • Identify and articulate complex business challenges across production, supply chain, and regulatory compliance, then map TELUS Agriculture's integrated seed-to-plate solutions to drive measurable business outcomes.
  • Analyze competitive landscape and market trends to identify new growth opportunities and inform account strategy.
  • Develop and execute multi-year account plans that expand wallet share across our full product ecosystem-including agronomy, program execution, supply chain visibility, and cold chain management solutions.
  • Negotiate and close enterprise-level contracts with sophisticated procurement teams, demonstrating command of complex deal structures, pricing models, and implementation timelines.
  • Collaborate with our technical, implementation, customer success, and channel partner teams to ensure seamless onboarding and adoption, serving as the voice of the customer internally and advocating for their strategic priorities.

What you bring

  • 5+ years of direct enterprise sales experience in agriculture, food chain, cold chain, or related industries, with a proven track record of closing complex, multi-million dollar multi year contracts with Fortune 500 and major logo accounts and consistent quota attainment (150%+ performance preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain trust-based relationships with C-suite executives (CEOs, COOs, CFOs, VPs of Operations), speaking their language and understanding their strategic priorities; proven success as a trusted advisor who influences strategic purchasing decisions.
  • Proven experience with enterprise data workflows, EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) integration, and SaaS solutions in complex, regulated environments.
  • Advanced consultative selling expertise-ability to diagnose complex operational challenges, translate them into compelling ROI-driven solution narratives, and position TELUS Agriculture as the strategic partner of choice in competitive bidding situations.
  • Exceptional negotiation and deal-closing acumen, with demonstrated success managing sophisticated procurement processes, complex contract structures, value-based pricing strategies, and navigating multi-stakeholder buying committees.
  • Polished professional presence and executive-level communication skills-ability to confidently engage with and influence senior leadership in boardroom settings and command respect at the C-suite level.
  • Expert-level proficiency with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms, with demonstrated ability to manage complex pipelines, forecast accurately, maintain disciplined sales processes, and drive predictable revenue outcomes.
  • Strong financial literacy and P&L acumen-ability to understand customer margins, budget constraints, and demonstrate measurable ROI impact in proposals and negotiations.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute multi-year account strategies, create mutual action plans (MAPs) with clients, and balance aggressive new business development with proactive account retention and expansion.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as required to support key customer relationships.

Great-to-haves

  • Deep domain expertise in agriculture and food supply chain operations, including farming operations, ag-tech, supply chain logistics, and understanding of how agribusinesses and food processors make purchasing decisions at scale.
  • Experience with Agtech (Food Safety, Sustainability, Specialty / Row crop, Supply Chain) market dynamics, including retailer consolidation, private label growth, and the shift to direct-to-consumer (DTC) or hybrid distribution strategies.
  • Certification or training in advanced sales methodologies (Challenger Sale, MEDDIC, Sandler, etc.) demonstrating commitment to continuous sales excellence.
  • Experience mentoring junior account executives and coordinating cross-functional teams (product, marketing, customer success) to align on strategic partnerships with prospects.
