Job description

The Home Delivery Coordinator/Logistics plays a vital role in supporting the Eloise's Cooking Pot Food Bank. This position is responsible for managing and coordinating delivery services for the Home Delivery Program, ensuring efficient operations, enhancing community awareness, and increasing the service capacity to assist more families in need.

In this role, you will orchestrate delivery routes, oversee the mobile food bank and grocery rescue initiatives, prepare meal boxes, set up new clients in our system, and train volunteers to facilitate the delivery of food and meal boxes. You will also be responsible for managing logistics for offsite food banks and donation pickups.

Requirements

Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with logistics software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Customer service-oriented mindset
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and optimize delivery routes using organizational delivery system technologies
  • Develop strategies to expand delivery capacity and serve more clients
  • Maintain liaisons with offsite food banks, schools, and partner organizations
  • Collect and organize weekly paperwork from delivery sites
  • Lead the grocery rescue program and manage associated logistics
  • Prepare delivery routes and handle customer inquiries
  • Supervise volunteers, staff, and AmeriCorps members involved in logistics operations
Volunteer Management:
  • Recruit, train, and mobilize volunteer drivers
  • Provide timely responses to volunteer inquiries
  • Create training materials for new and existing volunteers
  • Schedule volunteers and manage vehicle logistics
  • Oversee the maintenance of delivery vehicles
Delivery Oversight:
  • Supervise and organize deliveries and pickups at the food bank
  • Manage delivery drives, route coordination systems, and grocery rescue volunteers
