Job description

PURPOSE:
The College & Young Adults Pastor (CYAP) inspires college students and young adults, with a specific emphasis to men, toward deeper involvement and community at F/C, providing them with the next steps to get there. This includes ministry execution, teaching, ministry planning, facilitating gatherings, and providing care.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Responsibility #1: Facilitate regular College Gatherings and Groups
  • Plan, develop, promote, communicate, teach, and lead regularly scheduled gatherings for College Students.
  • Identify, develop, and equip leaders to lead college students in discipleship and community.
  • Direct systems of assimilation for College Students to participate in ministry-specific groups.

Responsibility #2: Facilitate regular Young Adult Events and Groups
  • Plan, develop, promote, communicate, teach, and lead regularly scheduled gatherings for Young Adults.
  • Identify, develop, and equip leaders to lead Young Adult groups in discipleship and community.
  • Direct systems of assimilation for Young Adults to participate in groups.

Responsibility #3: Direct Discipleship of College Students and Young Adults
  • Provide ongoing pastoral care and spiritual counseling for College Students and Young Adults in the ministry and larger community through systems of regular meetings.
  • Execute a leadership development system of recruitment, equipping, and ongoing resourcing for leaders and volunteers to be key influencers to those in the ministry.
  • Participate in Groups Ministry communication, planning, training, and initiatives.
  • Direct the Summer Internship Program to encourage participants' spiritual growth, vocational aspiration, and leadership development, while involving them in our church's ministries.

Responsibility #4: Connect unconnected College Students and Young Adults to the
Ministries
  • Maintain and grow an on-campus presence at local colleges and universities.
  • Identify and engage college students and young adults who attend weekly worship services yet are not connected to the ministries, and execute strategies to connect them.
  • Utilize effective communication to promote and champion the ministries and stories.

Responsibility #5: Assist in the organization of trips and events for discipleship
  • Participate in scheduling, promotion, communication, and coordination of mission trips and potential additional trips, retreats, community service events, and/or conferences for college and young adults.
  • Demonstrate that missions are a high priority within the ministries, modeling and fostering a strong commitment to both local and global missions.

Responsibility #6: Evaluate the ministry and manage the budget
  • Evaluate the key performance indicators for the ministry and manage the budget.
  • Report findings, diagnose problems, and find solutions.
