Position: Gluer Operator
Reports to: Finishing Department Supervisor

Position Overview:
Perform manual and machine operator tasks related to Set-Up, Run Operation, and Maintenance of Folder-Gluer amp; Window-Gluer Machines. Directs crew, and performs other related tasks as directed by the Finishing Department Manager.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Understands Finishing Gluing order requirements while following the daily posted schedule
  • Oversee the folding and gluing process, ensuring the output meets quantity and quality standards
  • Checks flat carton blanks, verifying correct copy and product identification number, while preparing proper adhesive, window file (type/size, if required), corrugate cases, and required labels
  • Make-Ready / Set-Up and adjust Folder Gluer Machine, Case Packer, Case Erector, and Case Tape Machine
  • Make-Ready / Set-Up and adjust Window Glue Machine
  • Make-Ready / Set-Up and adjust Corrugate Case Packing Machine (Carton Pack II)
  • Inspect random sample cartons for Gluing Quality
  • Have basic knowledge of carton styles, types of paperboard substrates, types of adhesives, window film materials, printing, and cutting
  • Will provide crew relief as required
  • Verify compliance with packing specifications as stated on the Factory Order
  • Ensure that ALL food safety procedures, work instructions, and policies are followed
  • Minimize downtime, troubleshoot stoppages and breakdowns, calling for Maintenance assistance
  • Ensure consistent Gluer Machine operation by completing preventative maintenance as required
  • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership and responsibility for implementation of new and different requests
  • Able to provide feedback to design with structures for equipment capability on the folder gluer
  • Other duties as assigned
Education / Experience:
High School diploma or GED equivalent is preferred but not required. Some experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
Communication Skills / Requirements:
Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with management, peers and other employees. Have active listening skills, attention to detail and follow-through. Must demonstrate tact, professionalism, teamwork, flexibility, an organized approach to work and a positive attitude.
Safety:
All duties to be performed in compliance with the company guidelines and safety policies.
PPE: MUST wear ear plug hearing protection and safety glasses in designated areas.
