Neurodiversity Dialectical Behavior Therapy is seeking a fully licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our dedicated team in Silver Spring, Maryland. This full-time remote position offers an opportunity to provide vital mental health services to clients within a community health clinic setting. This role is primarily remote, allowing you flexibility while still being part of a close-knit and multidisciplinary treatment team dedicated to comprehensive mental health care. • Conduct thorough, individualized assessments and screenings to evaluate clients' substance abuse history, co-occurring mental health conditions, and unique treatment needs.
• Create personalized treatment plans that address both substance use disorders and underlying mental health issues, utilizing evidence-based methodologies.
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, employing therapeutic techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and motivational interviewing, tailored to the client’s specific challenges.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of professionals, including physicians, nurses, and social workers, to ensure a comprehensive, integrated approach to each client's care.
• Educate and involve clients’ families in the recovery process, equipping them with resources and strategies to support their loved ones effectively.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential records, complying with state and federal regulations and ethical guidelines to protect client privacy.

Your primary focus will be supporting individuals facing substance use disorders, along with those experiencing related mental health issues. This includes working with adults and adolescents who may be grappling with the complexities of addiction, trauma, anxiety, depression, and co-occurring disorders. Your ability to connect with and motivate clients from diverse backgrounds will be essential in fostering their recovery journeys.

• A valid license as a Licensed Certified Social Worker - Clinical (LCSW-C), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist (LCMFT), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) is required.
• A Master’s degree or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated expertise in addiction counseling and familiarity with current protocols and practices related to substance abuse treatment.
• In-depth knowledge of best practices and evidence-based techniques for treating substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to develop therapeutic relationships and inspire clients in their recovery process.
• Excellent communication skills, complemented by teamwork abilities that promote collaborative care and learning.

While we welcome applications from various backgrounds, candidates with specialized training or certification in substance abuse treatment or trauma-informed care will be highly regarded. Prior experience in community health settings or similar environments is also encouraged.
