Job description

Welder, 2nd Shift

Shepherdsville, KY

Full-Time and On-Site

New Flyer is North America's heavy-duty transit bus leader, providing sustainable mobility solutions through transit buses, technology, and infrastructure. New Flyer is a subsidiary of NFI Group, a leader in propulsion agnostic bus and coach mobility solutions. Building on its 90+ year legacy of innovation, New Flyer is the only manufacturer offering all three types of zero-emission transit buses, with over 1,900 zero-emission buses delivered to date. New Flyer actively supports over 35,000 heavy-duty transit buses currently operated by approximately 500 agencies.

Position Summary: As a Welder at New Flyer in Shepherdsville, you will be responsible for performing various welding tasks to assemble and fabricate components according to specifications. You will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality standards in our production processes.

Requirements

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
  • Set up and operate welding equipment, including MIG and TIG welders.
  • Perform welding tasks using various welding techniques to fabricate and assembler components.
  • Inspect welds for accuracy, completeness, and quality. Make necessary adjustments as required.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas. Follow safety protocols and guidelines at all times.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production targets and ensure smooth workflow.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • Proven experience as a Welder, preferably in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
  • Proficiency in reading technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
  • Strong knowledge of TIG welding.
  • Ability to operate welding equipment and tools effectively.
  • Attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality welds.
  • Physical strength and stamina to perform welding tasks and lift heavy materials.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Hourly Wage Rate: $30.32/hr plus $1.50.hr Shift Differential

Standard Hours: Monday - Thursday, 4:00 PM - 2:30 AM
