Job Function: Soccer Staff Coach

Team Roles Available: Chicago, IL

Job Type: Part-time/In-person

Reports To: Director of Coaching


POSITION SUMMARY:

Chicago KICS Football Club is seeking a passionate individual to join the coaching roster in the Grassroots developmental program.

The Staff Coach will assist the club in different locations across Chicago, coaching and helping out in the Grassroots program, that includes Juniors and Toddlers sessions. Responsibilities include session planning, organization and field-set up, as well as representation of club values across the program. Candidates should be looking to advance their coaching education through completion of soccer coaching courses and certificates.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan weekly sessions for players between 2-12U and execute them on the field.
  • Align soccer sessions with KICS methodology.
  • Ensure that the voice and session standards correlate with the overall brand and mission statement of KICS.
  • Create engaging, fun, and developmental experiences for players and parents.
  • Work closely with the Grassroots Director to create a positive environment that showcases players’ personalities, experiences and achievements; celebrating player success and development with social activations to mark milestones and amplify in-game moments throughout the seasons.
  • Assist the marketing and communication department through video recording and taking pictures when needed in sessions
  • Create a sense of community with KICS families by engaging and keeping them informed and excited about the club. This might include mouth to mouth, flyer distribution, or email communications.
  • Monitor and report on player performance and recommend transitioning to travel teams as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • US Soccer grassroots online licenses required (11v11, 9v9, 7v7, 4v4).
  • US Soccer Grassroots 11v11 In-person license scheduled to complete.
  • Bachelor’s Degree Required - or working towards completion.
  • Ability to work on weekdays afternoon and weekend mornings.
  • Prior experience in the sports industry and coaching soccer – Preferred.
  • Driving license and clean record - Preferred.



SKILLS, ABILITIES & OTHER ATTRIBUTES:

  • Ability to solve problem as soon as they arise.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handling alone groups of 10-12 players.
  • Ensure a safe working environment for players on and off the field.
  • Ensure equipment is set up in time and ready before practices begin.
  • Reliability to attend all scheduled sessions and act professional at all times.
