Job description

This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will NOT be accepted through this flyer. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications: Ability to do the work of an Engineering Equipment Operator without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common duties which include: general equipment operation of all sizes of bulldozers, excavators, crawler type machines, front-end type loaders, outboard motors, power hoists, capstans and winches. Making minor repairs to equipment and performing preventive maintenance such as checking all oils and fluids, air filters, batteries, monitoring gauges, and monitoring track condition and tension.
  • Physical Effort: The operator is frequently required to sit in one position for extended periods of time causing strain and fatigue. Moderate physical effort is required to operate the various control mechanisms.
  • Working Conditions: Work is performed in all types of weather, in an open operator's seat, on hills, slopes, marshes, rolling and flat terrain. Operator is subject to insect bites when working in marshy areas. The possibility of injury exists in the event that the equipment overturns and the operator is continually exposed to dusty, dirty and noisy working conditions.
