POSITION SUMMARY

The Level I Technology Engineer supports the development, testing, and application of metals and alloys. This role focuses on process development, continuous improvement, and quality and cost control initiatives.The engineer will collaborate closely with production personnel, operations supervisors, and technical teams across the organization to ensure efficient and consistent manufacturing performance.

POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSINCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Conduct tests on metals todeterminetheir physical, chemical, and mechanical properties.
  • Inspect and test metal products to ensure they meet industry standards and specifications, documentingresultsand reporting deviations.
  • Working directly with customers, sales,and the process design team on new product development opportunities.
  • Reviewing order inquiries to assess our ability to meet customer requirements.
  • Continuously improving current processes to positivelyimpactquality, productivity,and cost.
  • Interacting directly with Quality Assurance and supporting the sales team to address any customer technical concerns.
  • Establishing relationships and interacting with many other ATI operating locations to learn and share best practices.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Strong understanding of basic metallurgyprinciplesand materials science.
  • Proficiencywith process analysis, conducting controlled experiments, and the ability to summarize data arerequired.
  • Must haveproblem-solvingskills and the ability to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Experience with statistical analysis and Six Sigma training preferred.
  • Understandingsafety and quality standards in metal processing.
  • Proficiencyin basic computer operations isrequired, including working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook.

BASICJOBREQUIREMENTS(Equivalent combinations of education, licenses, certifications,and/or experience will be considered)

  • Bachelor's degree in metallurgical engineeringor Materials Science.
  • Experience with project development, implementation,and management ispreferred.
  • Experience with process analysis, conducting controlled experiments,andtheability to summarize dataarerequired.
