Job description

National Field Data Collection Technician

Project-Based | 2 Openings

Love road trips, technology, and hands-on work? Wavetronix is looking for two technicians to travel across the U.S. collecting real-world traffic data to help test and improve our traffic sensing technology.

After about 2 months of paid training in Utah, you'll spend roughly 7 months traveling nationwide as part of a two-person team. You'll visit intersections around the country, set up equipment, collect data, fly drones (after training), and work closely with our engineering team.

What You'll Do
  • Travel throughout the U.S. as part of a two-person field team
  • Drive a company vehicle and help plan travel routes
  • Set up and operate traffic sensors, cameras, computers, and other equipment
  • Collect, organize, and transfer field data
  • Fly drones for approved data collections (training provided)
  • Troubleshoot basic equipment issues
  • Communicate regularly with the engineering team
  • Work safely in a variety of weather and traffic conditions
What We're Looking For
  • Dependable and safety-minded
  • Comfortable with travel and extended hotel stays
  • Willing to work outdoors in varying conditions
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to work closely with a teammate for several months
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license
  • Able to travel extensively for approximately 9 months
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally
  • Ability to obtain an FAA Remote Pilot Certificate during training
Bonus Points
  • Experience with technology, electronics, cameras, drones, or field work
  • Experience with road travel, logistics, or outdoor work
  • Current FAA Part 107 Drone License
