To thrive as a Fly-In Fly-Out (FIFO) Mining Worker, you need physical fitness, relevant trade qualifications or mining certifications, and a solid understanding of safety protocols. Familiarity with mining equipment, safety management systems, and certifications such as Standard 11 or MSHA are commonly required. Building strong communication routines with loved ones and taking advantage of on-site recreational facilities can also make the experience more manageable and rewarding.

FIFO roles can range from equipment operators and engineers to chefs and medical staff, and are common in regions where mining locations are far from residential areas.
