John James Audubon State Park is in Henderson, Kentucky where the legendary artist and naturalist discoveredhis passion. At the heart of the park is a world class museum. The 1373-acre park offers recreationalactivities that include camping, golfing, fishing, and hiking. John James Audubon State Park opened in 1934 iscomprised of six cottages', 9-Hole golf course, picnic shelters, museum, nature center, hiking trails, lake,and campground.
John James Audubon State Park is currently searching for an Automotive Technician I to join our Golf CourseMaintenance Unit. In this role, you will keep the tractors, mowers, utility vehicles, and irrigation systemsthat our golf course and grounds crew depend on running safely and reliably. From diagnosing an engine issueto staying ahead of problems with routine inspections and preventive maintenance, you will be the person ourteam counts on to keep the course in top shape.
Our ideal candidate has hands-on mechanical experience and a solid working knowledge of small engines, mowers,tractors, and other equipment. Comfortable working outdoors, lifting heavy objects, and troubleshootingproblems on the fly is a must. A valid driver's license is required. We are looking for a dependable, safety-minded individual who enjoys hands-on work and is willing to lend their knowledge to help train and supportthe rest of the team.
Compensation and Benefits:
Compensation is based on a 37.5-hour work week, with comp time or overtime over 37.5 hours. The Kentucky Department of Parks offers an outstanding benefitspackage for full-time employees, including affordable health, vision, dental, and life insurance, retirement plan,paid time off (Sick and vacation), and paid holidays.
Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION:High school graduate.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:Must have two years of automotive and/or equipment repair technical experience.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE:Vocational or technical school training in automotive/truck repair or a related area will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.):Must possess a valid driver's license prior to employment in this job classification. Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification.
