Position Summary

We are seeking outgoing, charismatic, and enthusiastic individuals to join the Hype Crew, Hamilton Hammers team. As the heartbeat of the fan experience, the Hype Crew is responsible for keeping the energy high from the moment doors open until the final buzzer. You will execute in-arena promotions, assist our in-game hosts, and serve as the primary brand ambassadors for the Hammers.

This is a seasonal role from September 2, 2026, and will end no later than June 30, 2027.

This role pays an hourly rate of $17.95 CAD

This position will remain open until October 23, 2026.

Responsibilities
  • Actively energize sections of the arena, lead crowd prompts, and maintain a highly visible, enthusiastic presence throughout the game.
  • Execute in-game and intermission promotions, including T-shirt tosses, concourse activations, and partner giveaways, ensuring all elements are delivered on time and to a high standard.
  • Work directly with the In-Game Hosts and Game Presentation management to coordinate and assist with live videoboard hits and contest logistics.
  • Assist with the pre-game setup and post-game tear-down of promotional materials, props, and activation spaces.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Must be naturally outgoing, loud, and comfortable interacting with strangers of all ages.
  • Extremely comfortable performing and engaging in front of large crowds (potentially 10,000+ fans) and live cameras.
  • Must be able to commit to working a minimum of 80% of all Hamilton Hammers home games for the upcoming season.
  • Required to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, in alignment with the Hammers AHL game schedule.
  • Ability to stand, walk, run, and climb arena stairs for extended periods in a fast-paced environment.
  • Quick thinker who can adapt on the fly to live-event changes and communicate effectively with the broader game presentation crew.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in performing arts, cheerleading, theater, sports, sports marketing, or broadcasting.
  • Previous experience on a promotional team, street team, or in live sports/event entertainment.
  • General knowledge of hockey is a plus, but a passion for entertaining is the priority.
