Box Office & Merchandise Sales, Usher, and Ticket Scanner Team:
The Box Office, Usher, and Ticket Scanner Team plays an integral role in the Bucs fan experience by greeting each fan with enthusiasm, hosting on-ice contests, throwing t-shirts and promo items, handing out prize coupons, assisting in sponsored aspects of the game, and representing the organization at the highest level. Additional opportunities for Bucs Promotions Crew to work outside of home games include community appearances and select Bucs special events. These positions report to the Executive Director of Sales & Operations.
BOX OFFICE & MERCHANDISE SALES
Qualifications and Job Description:
  • Assist with set up and tear down of the arena
  • Interaction with fans that enhances their experience at the game
  • Adjust to changes and in-game plans on the fly
  • Ability to effectively communicate and execute a point-of-sale transaction
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and understand verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays based on the event schedule
  • Reliable transportation anywhere in the Des Moines Metro area
  • Some knowledge of hockey, the Buccaneers, and/or sports promotions or marketing is preferred

  • Ability to closely follow a promotions script
  • Adjust to changes and in-game plans on the fly
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and understand verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays based on the event schedule
  • Reliable transportation anywhere in the Des Moines Metro area
  • Some knowledge of hockey, the Buccaneers, and/or sports promotions or marketing is preferred
  • Ability to be on your feet for extended periods of time
  • Collect and scan tickets from guests entering the arena
  • Availability to help with the sales of Chuck-A-Puck during the first two periods
  • Verify ticket accuracy and authenticity
  • Verify tickets for correct date and seating location
  • Maintain ticket integrity by monitoring unauthorized seat changes
  • Patrol aisles every period to maintain guest safety and satisfaction
  • Monitor assigned seating sections for safety hazards and seating issues, reporting concerns to supervisors
  • Provide directions to various arena locations

  • Communicate arena policies to guests as needed

Requirements:
  • High school diploma
  • Must be 17 years of age
  • Ability to pass a criminal and background check
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as individually
  • Willingness to interact with fans and other members of the community
  • Experience working in a face to face or customer service role preferred
  • Ability to greet fans with friendly enthusiasm and energy
  • Must be comfortable in front of large crowds and in one-on-one settings interacting with fans and providing exceptional customer service
  • Deliver excellent customer service to all arena guests
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed
  • Must be available for all Bucs home games of the 2026-27 season
