Hohl Industrial Services is seeking an experienced Millwright Field Superintendent to lead and support field operations across a variety of industrial construction and service projects. This role works closely with the Project Manager and provides direct oversight of foremen and trades personnel to ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on industrial trade experience (Millwright or Ironworker background preferred), proven leadership skills, and a track record of delivering projects on schedule and within budget.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Execution & CoordinationReview and fully understand project specifications, contracts, drawings, and related documents to ensure accurate field execution.Partner with the Project Manager during pre-construction planning, including site inspections, constructability reviews, sequencing, and equipment/tool planning.Monitor and coordinate manpower, equipment, and tool requirements to maintain uninterrupted field operations.Maintain and drive project schedules to meet contractual commitments.Coordinate field activities among internal crews, shop personnel, subcontractors, and owner vendors.Manage scope changes in the field, ensuring proper documentation and communication.Leadership & SupervisionProvide daily direction to foremen and field personnel.Assign work, monitor productivity, and adjust schedules as necessary.Mentor and develop field staff to strengthen leadership capabilities and craftsmanship.Supervise subcontractor performance to ensure compliance with scope, safety, schedule, and quality standards.Communication & DocumentationMaintain proactive communication with Project Managers regarding field conditions, resource needs, and schedule impacts.Participate in weekly scheduling and coordination meetings.Attend project meetings representing field operations.Oversee and review project documentation, including:TimesheetsJob Safety Analyses (JSAs)Red-line drawingsDaily project updatesSafety & QualityLead site safety initiatives and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and project-specific requirements.Conduct regular on-site inspections to ensure quality, productivity, and client satisfaction.Maintain quality standards in accordance with company and contract specifications.TravelTravel to local and out-of-area project sites as required.QualificationsEducation & ExperienceHigh School Diploma or GED required.Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program in Millwrighting, Ironworking, or related industrial trade required.7–10 years of progressively responsible experience in industrial construction.3+ years of leadership experience preferred.Hands-on experience in millwrighting and/or ironworking operations, including:RiggingEquipment settingStructural steel erectionAlignment and installationProven ability to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget.CertificationsValid driver's license required.Skills & CompetenciesStrong leadership and team development abilities.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to read and interpret complex drawings and technical documents.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.Ability to perform basic and advanced math related to construction and estimating.Effective communicator with personnel at all organizational levels, clients, subcontractors, and union trade professionals.Work Environment & Physical RequirementsThis position requires both office and field work.Field/Shop Environment:Industrial construction sites that may be non-climate controlled, dirty, and physically demanding.Moderate physical activity including lifting, climbing, crawling, stretching, and maneuvering in tight spaces.Office Environment:Standard office setting with computer-based work and extended keyboard use.What We're Looking ForWe are looking for a hands-on leader who:Leads by example in safety and craftsmanshipCommunicates clearly and proactivelyTakes ownership of schedules and outcomesDevelops and supports field personnelThrives in fast-paced industrial environments
