Today, rocket launch options are slow, expensive, and unreliable. Stoke is building the world's most efficient fully and rapidly reusable rocket designed to fly daily, radically increasing access to space and opening up the space economy to safeguard our precious home, Earth. 

Boltline is our commercial software platform that not only helps Stoke safely and accurately build our reusable rocket, it also helps any advanced hardware manufacturing teams integrate, track, iterate, build, and test efficiently. 

As Software Development Manager on the Integrations team, you'll lead the team building and maintaining integrations into the Boltline ecosystem. The role has three parts: people managementproduct ownership, and hands-on technical contribution. You'll act as the team's spokesperson, working closely with internal and external stakeholders and technical leads. 

We're looking for someone who leads with servitude, drives quality through repeatable engineering practices, and operates with extreme ownership and clear communication. You must be ready to stay focused, move fast, self-direct, and learn on the fly.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the backlog and active projects for the team
  • Create detailed product requirements and make priority decisions in concert with the strategy of the product team
  • Manage your team's software development lifecycle 
  • Manage individual team members' career growth and development
  • Manage headcount, interviewing and hiring for the team 
  • Perform code reviews
  • Collaborate with Product and Design to understand priority, focus and scope
  • Build, operate and maintain integrations to multiple external platforms

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of professional software development 
  • Strong IC experience in delivering quality SaaS systems
  • Experience in driving product requirements and priority 
  • Experience managing and leading strongly technical software developers 
  • Experience with software integration practices and patterns 
  • Excellent verbal/written communication
  • Prior on-call/incident response participation
  • Proven ownership of features from design through production

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with modern web development frameworks (ReactJS)
  • Experience with building reliable APIs
  • Experience with RDBMS
  • Familiarity with Next.js or similar meta-frameworks
  • DevOps basics (Docker, Kubernetes/ECS, AWS)
  • Experience with Apollo (Client/Server), Hasura or similar
  • Hands-on CI/CD experience (GitHub Actions, CircleCI, etc.)
  • Interest in aerospace, mechanical engineering, and manufacturing workflows

Compensation

Target Levels:

  • Level 4 Range: $192,885 - $289,380
  • Level 5 Range: $231,525 - $347,235
